John Terry Hails Thibaut Courtois And Petr Cech As The World’s Two Best Goalkeepers

Chelsea Captain John Terry believes Chelsea have the best two goalkeepers in the world.

Belgian international Thibaut Courtois pulled off a string of fine saves to earn Jose Mourinho’s men a 1-1 Champions League first-leg draw at Paris St Germain after Petr Cech had been outstanding in last week’s 1-0 win over Everton.

Terry says Petr Cech has been the ultimate professional despite spending most of the season on the bench unlikely many of his tantrum-throwing team mates over the years.

And skipper Terry admits he does not envy Mourinho having to choose between the two for the Capital One Cup Final against Tottenham on Sunday.

Terry said: “Courtois is different class. It’s unlucky for Big Pete because he made two unbelievable saves from Romelu Lukaku against Everton last week, but he has been unbelievably professional around the club this season.

“I’ve seen a lot of players in my time throw their toys out of the pram when they’re not playing but he’s been different class for the team. The manager stresses the importance of the team coming first.

“They’re both there for the whole squad. Both of them have been excellent.

“I certainly saw enough of Courtois in the Champions League semi-finals last season. We’ve got the two best goalkeepers in the world in my opinion, both fighting for one place.

“The manager manages to keep them both happy, I don’t know how. Obviously they both want to play all the time. But the two of them are at the top of their games. Rotating them is a tough job.

“Pete’s played most of the League Cup games and Thibaut has played the last round so I’m glad it’s his job to choose not mine.

“We’ve not even spoken about Pete’s future, but credit to him, he’s not rumbled the dressing room or sent shockwaves through the dressing room. He’s been really professional. He still is a top keeper with a lot to give

“He hasn’t just given up and said ‘it’s your Thibaut’. When he’s come in he’s had to be brilliant and given the manager food for thought

“Pete could play for any team. He’s worth 10 to 12 points every season.
