Judge Remands 21 Year Old Man For Defiling 5 Minors

A Gusau Chief Magistrates’ Court, Zamfara State, has remanded a 21-year-old man, Muktar Bello in prison for allegedly defiling five minors.

Bello, who resides at Aleirawa area of Talata Mafara Local Government Area, was arraigned on a one-count charge of defilement.

The prosecutor, Corporal Lawali Isah, told the court that on December 5, one Junaidu Muhammad of the same address reported the case at Talata Mafara Police Station.

Isah said that on the same day, the accused took five girls, aged between five and eight years, to a hideout in the area and defiled them.

The prosecutor alleged that the accused promised to give the girls N10 each and had carnal knowledge of them one after the other.

He said that the offence contravened Section 283 of the Penal Code.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The Chief Magistrate, Alhaji Bello Kucheri, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison.

He adjourned the case till December 23 for further mention.
