Kanye West Needs Mental Health Counseling, Songwriting Partner Reveals

Kanye West’s longtime songwriting partner Rhymefest, who has worked on songs including “Jesus Walks” and “New Slaves,” tweeted recently that the rapper needs counseling. He also revealed that he stopped working with West last month.

Rhymefest, who’s real name is Che Smith, replied to a comment that he should be writing West’s Twitter posts as well as his song, saying, “my brother needs help, in the form of counseling. Spiritual & mental. He should step away from the public & yesmen & heal.”

West has been criticized since debuting an earlier version of the album at his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show over lyrics about Taylor Swift that many have found to be misogynistic.

He has also recently tweeted that Bill Cosby is innocent and engaged in a Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa.

Rhymefest continued, “I love my brother. I pray for his health not our entertainment.”
