Kenyan wins Lagos city marathon as Emmanuel Gyang is 1st Nigerian to finish – see photos

Kenyans Abraham Kiptum, on Saturday, won the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.

Abraham’s winning time was 2 hours, 16 minutes and 21 seconds.

The first Nigerian to cross the finish line, Emmanuel Gyang emerged in the seventh position over all.

The runners took off from Teslim Balogun Staduim, Surulere and winded up at Eko Atlantic in Victoria Island.

The winner Abraham Kiptum will take home a whooping sum of $50,000, while Nigerian, Emmanuel Gyang Gwom, will claim a N1,000,000 prize. The total prize money is N92m, so this sum will be split among winners in various categories.
