Disney is in negotiations to star Kevin Hart in its upcoming family Christmas comedy: “Dashing Through the Snow.”

Accorsing to The Hollywood Reporter, the story tells of a New York City detective who is a workaholic and has a strained relationship with his son. The only thing that may be able to repair the father-son relationship is the one true Santa Claus who has to make the man believe in Christmas magic.

Hart, who is one of the town’s busiest comedians and this year starred in “Ride Along 2” and New Line’s hit “Central Intelligence”, also has his comedy concert film, “Kevin Hart: What Now?” currently in theatres.

Will Packer, who worked with Hart on the Ride Along movies and was an executive producer on Roots, is producing the new Dosney movie with John Jacobs.

The project is based on an original idea by Scott Rosenberg (Con Air), and Rob Burnett is writing the current draft. Liar Liar and Elf have been said to be the tonal analogues.

A search for a director is also said to have begun.
