Kidnappers Demand N50m As Ransom For Commissioner’s Wives

Abductors of the two wives of Mr. Aliyu Ahmed, Nasarawa state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, have demanded a ransom of N50 million.

According to reports, the kidnappers made repeated calls to Ahmed, threatening to hold his wives captives unless the ransom was paid.

In an interview, Ahmed confirmed that, “they (kidnappers) demanded that I should give them plenty money, but I told them that I don’t have money to give anybody.”

The gunmen had invaded Nasarawa town on Thursday night, abducted the commissioner’s two wives and took them to an undisclosed destination.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abubakar Sadiq Bello, said,

“The police are still investigating the matter to ensure that the victims are rescued from the hands of their abductors.”
