Lagos to shut down Over Ten Thousand Private Schools

The Lagos state government has declared  its intentions to shut down Private schools operating illegally  in the state.

Idiat Oluranti Adebule,  deputy governor  of Lagos state,  disclosed this information  on Monday, at the 3rd quarterly stakeholders’ forum of private schools, held in the state secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja.

Adebule noted that over 15,000 private schools were operating in the state as against the 4556, approved and registered meaning over 10,000 schools are operating illegally.

Governor Ambode  stated  it has officially become  an offence  to operate in the state without  approval.
