The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has constituted a 15-member ad hoc committee to screen Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s nominees for appointment into the State Executive Council.

It will be recalled that on September 21, the governor forwarded the list of 36 nominees to the Assembly for screening and approval as commissioners and special advisers.

Twenty three of the nominees are to be appointed as commissioners, while 13 will be appointed as Special Advisers to the governor.

Obasa announced the names of members of the committee on Tuesday during the plenary.

He urged them to thoroughly screen the nominees and ensure that only the best hands were appointed to assist Ambode in running the affairs of the state.

The House later adjourned plenary to October 13 when the committee is expected to submit its report.
