American lesbian Pastors Twanna Guase and Vanessa Brown of Rivers of Living Water United Church of Christ, have tied the knot in the presence of their family and friends.
Twanna Guase and Vanessa Brown, said their vows to each other in New Vision Full Gospel Baptist Church in East Orange, New Jersey.
Guase’s father had rejected his daughter’s invitation citing “differences in theological beliefs.”
Ms. Gause responded to her father ‘s absence as she gave a speech during the ceremony.
She said, “My father would not come here because he does not believe in same-sex marriage.
“He told me the devil tricked me into this, and that if we had been married in biblical times, we would have been stoned to death.”
Same sex marriages have gained popularity in the United States as its legally accepted and according to reports has more than 60% approval rate.
