Lone Rashford Strike Keeps Man Utd’s European Dream Alive

1 Min Read

Manchester United have had their chances of qualification for Europe brightened after a lone strike from whizkid, Marcus Rashford sent them to victory in Sunday’s Manchester derby.

The hard-fought victory takes United to 50 points from 30 games, same with West Ham and one point below their city rivals.

With his 16th minute strike after a pin-point pass from Juan Mata, Rashford becomes the youngest player to score on his Manchester derby, at 18 years 141 days.

Though City continued to threaten throughout the game, with Sergio Aguero and substitute Wilfred Bony wasting a couple of decent chances, United were able to stick to their guns to ensure victory over their rivals, who lost first-choice goalkeeper Joe Hart to injury.
