Flesh eating maggots invade woman’s Brazilian hair weave, cause serious health issues

A Kenyan woman suffering from crippling headaches after being fitted with a human hair weave found flesh-eating maggots gnawing into her skull.

Irene Myangoh believes her hairpiece from a Nairobi salon had come from a corpse and that the critters had hatched from eggs laid on the dead body.

The law firm personal assistant told IReporters.tv she started experiencing agonizing pains across her head two weeks after a trip to the business.

Painkillers were of little help, and blood tests and brain scans also came back negative.

She then went back to her doctor, who examined her scalp and reportedly found the maggots eating into her skull.

Myangoh was forced to shave her hair and take antibiotics for two weeks after the discovery.

The salon manager, who has not been named, told the website she was “shocked” to hear what had happened and would be contacting her supplier.

She also promised to compensate her client.

Nairobi Hospital surgeon Dr. CK Musau said 10 similar cases had come to light in recent months.
