A man working with one of the leading Global Systems for Mobile communication, GSM, service providers has yesterday stabbed his lover for refusing his proposal.
The sad incident occurred in Tanke area, Ilorin in Kwara State.
The man was reported to have also stabbed his girlfriend’s mother who tried to settle the dispute which resulted as a result of the failed proposal.
The lady however lost her life through the injuries inflicted on her while the mother escaped with wounds.
Sources reported that the lady’s mother was rushed to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, UITH, where she’s been receiving treatment.
The couple was reported to have been involved in series of quarrels erupted by the marriage topic.Sources further revealed that the lady, in her 30s, had insisted she cold not marry the man based on his relations with other women.
The couple according to reportd went out on Sunday vefore the issue resurfaced on moday which led the man into threatening the deceased’s life.
According to reports by Newtelegraph, the man who is now on the run was said to have reported first at his work place before taking an excuse to carry out the stabbing.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi confirmed the incident.
The deceased’s body has since been taken for autopsy to enable pursuance of necessary legal steps.
