Married In 1925, World’s Oldest Couple Celebrates 90th Wedding Anniversary

A couple from the United Kingdom, believed to be the world’s oldest married couple, have celebrated their 90th year wedding anniversary.

Originally from India, the couple, Karam and Kartari Chand, got married on December 11, 1925, in a traditional Punjabi ceremony and moved to the UK 40 years later. While the husband is 110 years, his better half is 103 years old.

Mr and Mrs Chand from Bradford in West Yorkshire have eight children, 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Speaking to the media about their union, Karam Chand said: “It is a blessing to have been married and to have lived this long. Life and marriage is all about happiness, it is what is most important.”

The couple presently live with their youngest son, Paul and his family.
