Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi, is reportedly fuming over Real Madrid’s achievements last season and fears Cristiano Ronaldo will beat him to the FIFA Ballon d’Or prize too, Daily Post Nigeria reports
Messi had another brilliant campaign, which saw him score 54 goals in only 52 appearances, but Barca missed out on winning the La Liga title to Zinedine Zidane’s men on the last day of the season.
They were also eliminated from the Champions League by Juventus, who eventually lost 1-4 to Ronaldo’s Real Madrid in the final.
According to Gol Newspaper, sources from Barcelona’s camp admit Messi is not happy and feels his rival will now equal his record of five Ballon d’Or wins.
The Argentia captain believes it would have been different, if former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, made the right decisions in key games of the season.
