Egyptian winger, Mo Salah has joined Serie A side Roma on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

After spending the second-half of last season on loan at Fiorentina, where he scored nine goals in 26 appearances, the former FC Basel player had been deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho.

He will now spend the 2015/16 campaign on loan in the Italian capital with the agreement including an option to buy at any point during the coming season.

I think Roma are one of the biggest clubs in the world and I’m happy to be in this team,” Salah told Roma TV. “I didn’t expect it but it was very nice for me. I was very happy and I enjoyed it.

“We never know what will happen next season. Let’s see what will happen but I want to be at one club for a long time because in the last two years I was at Fiorentina for six months and I was at Chelsea for a year. I’d like to stay at one club for a long time.
