The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) will soon order telecommunication companies to provide a window for customers to use up their unused data after expiration date.

The Head of Projects at NCC, Mr Bashir Idris who represented the Executive Vice Chairman, NCC, Prof Umar Danbatta made this known at the NCC special day at the trade fair on Thursday.

He said, On this issue of data roll over, the Commission will soon issue a directive to the service providers to give 14 days window to the subscribers to enable them roll over their unused data, even if they do not renew on the expiration of data.

“In order words, this will stop the current practice where subscribers lose their entire unused data if they fail to renew on the data of the expiration of the current subscription.”

Danbatta had equally said the same thing at the 2017 Lagos International Trade Fair in November.
