NDLEA Arrests Policeman With 5.1kg Of Indian Hemp

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kogi state have arrested a Police corporal with 5.1kg of substance suspected to be Indian hemp.

While speaking to newsmen in Lokoja, Alhaji Idris Bello, the state commander of the NDLEA, disclosed that the Policeman was a serving corporal and was arrested in a Peugeot J5 bus with a sack and black polythene bag full of the suspected substance weighing 5.1 kg.

It was learnt that the suspect (name withheld), was reported to be on a special assignment in Damaturu, Yobe State.

Bello also disclosed that on the 19th of February, one Tajudeen Yakubu was arrested along the Lokoja-Abuja highway with 16 wraps of suspected drug weighing 10.2 kg in a black polythene bags which he concealed in the rear bumper and compartments of a Volkswagen Golf car.

Similarly, another suspect, Laide Salau, a motor  mechanic, was arrested on February 23 while boarding a light green Toyota Hiace bus marked Delta KA 702 URA, carrying 70 bags and three black polythene bags of the dried Indian hemp weighing 520.9kg.
