NDLEA seizes truck load of Cannabis Sativa in Uzebba, Edo State

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has seized a truck laden with Cannabis Sativa, on Sunday by 1am in Uzebba, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo state.

The prohibited substance was being transported to an unknown destination by some persons who fled the scene during the search by the officials of NDLEA.

State Commandant of NDLEA, Buba Wakes, displayed the substance while speaking to journalists saying, “we received intelligence that a group of people are loading Cannabis Sativa in a forest in Uzebba area.

“We mobilised our officers and they went for the operation. Due to the terrain of the environment, the suspects sighted our vehicles and escaped into the bush. We had to tow the vehicle from Uzebba to our office.”

He however disclosed that the matter was still under investigation and would soon lead to the arrest of the suspects.

“We have got vital links that will help us to track down those behind this particular movement. No arrest was made because it was in the night; they sighted our vehicles and took to their heels.”
