Nigeria Approves Six New Private Varsities

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu has disclosed that six new private universities have been approved in the country.

Adamu made this known shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo which held at the council chambers of the Presidential Villa on Wednesday.

The minister while addressing State House correspondents said the approval was granted by the Federal Executive Council for the universities which will be located in Lagos, Abia, Oyo, Rivers and Niger States.

He added that the National Universities Commission (NUC) would continue to carry out quality assurance on all universities in the country to ensure they comply with laid-down rules.
