An Ebola Survivor, Dr. Ada Igonoh has given birth to a baby girl in United States of America.

Igonoh who is also an official of First Consultant Medical Centre, Lagos delivered her baby at the Greater El-Monte Community Hospital in California.

In a statement, FCMC said she has been under medical surveillance during her pregnancy and delivery to ensure that her child was born free of the viral infection.

Igonoh was the only female medical doctor to have survived the deadly disease after seven other officials in the hospital had primary contact with the index patient, Patrick Sawyer.

Ever since she was discharged from the isolation centre last year, she has been free of the disease but she had to implement certain dietary changes to boost her immunity level.

The Federal Ministry of Health estimates that 19 Ebola cases were established in the country, 15 in Lagos and four in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
