The Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), has explained why members of the Arewa Youth council have not been arrested.
This has come after accusations of bias towards the Northern group responsible for the quit notice given to Igbos living in the area.
Malami explained that the reason why members of the Arewa group weren’t arrested was because of the security implications it could bring with it.
Malami who had earlier prayed the court to withdraw the bail conditions of the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IOOB), Nnamdi Kanu which would have seen him re-arrested, has suffered criticism over his perceived inaction against the Arewa Youth forum.
In his defense Malami said; “Government considered the security implications on the issue. Let me state that government is alive to its responsibility and whoever is found wanting will be prosecuted. This administration is determined to provide good governance and promote justice, peace and fairness.”
