The People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria (PDP) have opined that former President Olusegun Obasanjo should apologise to Nigerians for his role in making Buhari President.
This comes in the light of a recent scathing review of the Buhari Presidency by Obasanjo who suggested that Buhari not run for Presidency for 2019 and should instead rest.
The South-South arm of the PDP in a statement via their Facebook page stated that while Obasanjo’s honesty should be applauded, he should still apologize to Nigerians for helping Buhari win in the first place.
The statement said; “We salute the courage of former President Olusegun Obasanjo for coming out to condemn the Buhari and the APC government for their failure. Obasanjo was the Navigator of the APC and Buhari in 2015.
“Obasanjo having admitted that Buhari is clueless, incompetent, nepotistic and clannish, condoning corruption in his government and using blame game as a means of governance.
“That under the Buhari administration and APC Nigeria is now divided than ever.
“That Buhari poor performance has made Nigerians poorer than before Buhari and his APC took over power in 2015
“That Buhari and the APC has mismanaged our economy.
“That Buhari has not been able to secure the lives and properties of Nigerians.
They added, “Obasanjo should apologize to Nigerians for helping to foist this wicked, heartless and inept APC government on Nigerians in 2015.
“He should retire from active politics and take the back seat.”
