Odemwinge injured as Stoke stuns in 1 – 0 victory over Man City

Manuel Pellegrini’s  team were shockingly defeated at City of Manchester Stadium by visiting side Stock City who slipped away with a 1 – 0 win.

The defending Champions  who started the season with two wins put forward a strong attacking force with a pair of  Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Kolarov, their efforts were however matched with Stoke’s brilliant defense headed by Yaya Toure.

Minutes after the start of the second-half, Senagal International, Mame Biram Diouf’s who ran through about 70 yards scored the opener for the Potters.

Peter Odemwinge substituted Walters at the start of another half, shortly after, the Nigerian delivered a dangerous cross but Diouf
failed to make a brace from it.

Odemwinge’s time to shine was cut short when he sustained a  knee ligament injury in the 65th minute and was carried off in a stretcher.

Nigerian Victor Moses who was awarded the Man of the match title in Stoke’s last game was in the starting line-up but was substituted for Muniesa in the 80th minute.

This is Stoke’s first win of the season.
