OGTV Earn N108m in 10 Months

Mr Festus Kehinde, the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Television (OGTV), on Monday said that the station generated N108 million as revenue between January and October.

Kehinde disclosed this while defending the 2018 budget of OGTV at the state House of Assembly in Abeokuta.

He explained that the station proposed to generate N250 million in 2018 as revenue.

He noted that the station earmarked N542 million as capital project while N385 million was for recurrent expenditure.

Kehinde added that the television station would be on DSTV platform in 2018 for “wider reach and more eyeballs,’’ adding that it would improve on its transmission in terms of content.

“We have proposed to spend the sum of N8 million on the acquisition of Outside Broadcasting Van while N412 million would be used to acquire digital transmission equipment.

“It is important to provide necessary equipment that will support the analogue to digital transmission migration deadline of 2018 and I want to tell you that the “OB VAN” we have now was bought in 2003,” he said.

Defending the budget of Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Mr Busayo Olaifa, the Acting General Manager, said that the station proposed a budget of N587.8 million for 2018.

He explained that the capital project of the station was to improve the signal strength.

Olaifa said that the strength would widen the audience base of the station and increase its media rating and put it among the best three radio stations in Nigeria.

He explained that the station generated N110 million as revenue between January and October, adding that it proposed to generate N200 million revenue in 2018
