Ogun State Police Command Parades Arrested Boko Haram Member

Umaru Muktar, 22, has been apprehended by the operatives of the Ogun State Police Command on suspicion of being a member of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Muktar, identified as a fleeing member of the Boko Haram terrorist sect is an indigene of Gonge, Maiduguri, Borno state.

He was arrested following a tip off at Kara in the Mowe area of Ogun State.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abdulmajid Alli, during a parade of arrested suspects on Monday at the Headquarters of the Federal Special Anti – Robbery Squad (FSARS) at Magbon – Abeokuta, Ogun state, confirmed that the suspect admitted to being a member of the Boko Haram sect.

The Commissioner continued that investigations revealed that Muktar fled Maiduguri two and a half years ago where he was initiated into the terrorist group by a certain Mustapha to settle in Ogun state.

He noted that the collaborative efforts between the Ogun and Borno States Police Command and the Hausa speaking community of Kara helped facilitate the suspect’s arrest.

Muktar, speaking through an interpreter revealed that he knew a few of the Boko Haram members in Borno state, he added that he fled the state when security agencies beefed up their activities.
