On Tuesday, the Indigenous People of Biafra condemned the “Operation Python Dance” inaugurated by the Nigerian Army in the South-East on Monday.

According to a statement made available by Mr. Emma Powerful, IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, the group said the development was a plan of the Federal Government to diminish the Biafra struggle.

Excerpts from the statement read;

“The Federal Government and the defence headquarters have stationed the military in every part of the South-East to eliminate all the IPOB members and Biafra agitators in the South-South and the South-East zones.

“However, we are going to hold the South-East governors responsible if anything happens to any person in the South-East because the Federal Government and the Nigerian defence headquarters cannot afford to bring the military equipment into the South-East without the consent of the state governors.”

The group also accused the governors of Anambra and Abia state of allegedly having hatred for the group as well as killing some of its members.

“Now, the other governors of the South-East have joined Rochas Okorocha who sent security agents to arrest the IPOB coordinator in Imo State with his family, dumped them in an unknown place and demolished his house.

“They have now come together with their counterparts in Enugu and Ebonyi states to kill their kit and kin this time because they feel they are no more relevant in the face of the general public in the land.

“We are going to hold you people responsible if anything happens to any of our members.”
