Police Arraign Two For Stealing Senator’s Chicken Worth N9,600

The police in Osun state have arraigned two men, Adegoke Atanda, 65, and Obe Adegbola, 50,  for allegedly stealing six live chickens valued at N9,600 from Olu Alabi Farms.

Senator Olu Alabi represented the Osun Central senatorial district in the National Assembly between 1991 and 1992 and owned a farm located at Oke Onitea area of Osogbo, where the offence was allegedly committed.

According to police prosecutor, Mr. Gafari Muslimi, the suspects committed the act on February 10.

The prosecutor told Chief Magistrate, Mrs. Fatimoh Sodamade, that the offence contravened sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State 2003.

The suspects pleaded not guilty to the crime and the magistrate granted them bail of N20,000 each with one surety each in like sum.

The Chief Magistrate fixed March 1, 2018 for commencement of trial.
