The Kano Police Command has arrested six persons in Kano for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl in Kano.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Magaji Majiya, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Tuesday.
He said the suspects, who are youths, were apprehended at Kawon Alhaji Sani area in the Kano metropolis on Thursday night.
He said the suspects allegedly took their victim and her friend to a room, where they raped her one after the other.
Majiya said the other girl (a friend of the victim) was, however, lucky as the suspects could not as well defile her before some concerned persons raised an alarm.
He said that following a report to the police, the command swung into action and arrested all the six suspects on Thursday night.
Majiya said the victim was still receiving treatment at the hospital.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Maigari Dikko, has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter, while the suspects would remain in police custody pending the completion of the investigation.
The spokesman said as soon as investigation was completed, the suspects would be charged to court.
