A businessman in Kano has stabbed himself to death with a knife for an undisclosed reason, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported.
The 65-year-old man, Alhaji Ado Maisumunti, was spotted by eyewitnesses using a knife to cut his throat with blood gushing out, NAN reported.
The incident happened around 8.30 a.m. at Sheka quarters in Kano metropolis.
One of the witnesses who spoke to NAN said: “Before people could do anything, he cut his throat and finally gave up the ghost.”
NAN gathered that Maisumunti was a successful businessman before his death.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Majiya, confirmed the incident, saying it was reported to the command by the Sheka Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday.
Majiya said investigation into the incident had since commenced.
