The Presidency has denied that it plans to spend a whopping N3 billion to organise transition from President Goodluck Jonathan to the Muhammadu Buhari incoming administration.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Dr. Reuben Abati, while reacting to the story on the social media, described it as mere “fiction”.

According to Abati, no joint meeting has been held between the Presidency’s transition committee and Buhari’s transition team.

It will be noted that the story had quoted Buhari as expressing surprise that President Jonathan put the cost of the assignment that will last for only two weeks at N3 billion.

According to Abati said: “This is pure fiction and blackmail. “No such meeting or conversation ever took place. “Whoever wrote the copy obviously has never heard of being magnanimous in victory. “A charlatan certainly.”
