The United States President, Donald J. Trump has been sued to court for blocking people on social media platform, Twitter.

The 45th United states president was sued to court by seven people for blocking them on the social media platform.

The persons in the case filed against the US president noted that the president uses his Twitter page to praise his allies and lambast critics.

The lawsuit filed by the Knight First Amendment Institute, a free speech group at Columbia University on behalf of the seven social media users claimed that the president and his aides blocked them on the social media platform after they replied his tweets with mocking or critical comments.

The complaint filed against the US president further argued that the president’s move to block individuals from his social media page is an attempt to suppress dissent and shut down critics of his administration.

The legal document further claimed that the president and his aides are in clear violation of their First Amendment right to free speech.
