Released Chibok Girl Is Four Months Pregnant

Miss Susan Ishaya, one of the abducted Chibok girls who was released by Boko Haram insurgents is four months pregnant.

The pregnancy has been confirmed by the Chairman of Chibok Community in Abuja, Tsambido Hosea Abana.

Miss Ishaya was said to have been found near a police station in Mubi town, Adamawa State, on Wednesday after she was dumped there by the insurgents, according to security sources.

Abana also confirmed that the girl was among the abducted Chibok girls has been moved to Adamawa State Police Headquarters in Yola. “Susan is actually one of our daughters abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok.

“She was found in Mubi where her abductors dumped her and was later taken to Yola and it is proved that the girl is four months pregnant but psychological and physically traumatized,” he said.

Abana however urged the authorities handling Susan’s case to expedite action by sending her to a good hospital for proper medical attention. He prevailed on the Federal Government to step up its efforts towards freeing the remaining girls and re-uniting them with their families.

In a sad development, it was also learnt that another young lady who recently escaped from the Boko Haram captors had been killed in her Michika community. It was discovered that she was responsible for the death of her four siblings.

The girl, whose name was being kept secret to protect her family from facing manslaughter charge, was said to have successfully re-united with her family before she killed her three male and female siblings.
However every attempt to reach the military authorities in Yola proved abortive.

Meanwhile, the Boko Haram camp in Madagali is divided. There is a leadership tussle which led to the death of 30 insurgents.

A trapped resident in Madagali said that the fight ensued over the disagreement on who should be the new Amir after the killing of the former leader of the insurgent by Nigerian troops in Bazza a fortnight ago.

“Over 30 Boko Haram fighters were killed in Madagali town after a fight that ensued between them over disagreement on whether to surrender their weapons. They just kept shooting themselves sporadically,” said David Chakawa.

Chakawa who told journalists in a telephone interview that there has been disquiet among members of the group with some agitating for ceasefire.

“Already, there is also leadership crisis over who should emerge the new leader in Madagali,” Mr Chakawa said. For almost three weeks now, Gulak, Shuwa and Michika towns have been under the control of the insurgents.

Residents say that, many “defaulters” where being punished by the sect by chopping off their fingers while others are given corporal punishment of flogging.

“They cut-off fingers, lash offenders and marryoff spinsters,” said Bitrus Kwache a trapped resident in Michika.
