Christiano Ronaldo Ballon d’Or and Euro 2016 winner has taken a swipe at former Barcelona midfielder Xavi Hernandez for comments the latter made.
Xavi when asked about who was better in Ronaldo and Messi, said that only that while Ronaldo was an amazing player, Messi was far superior.
Ronaldo was not pleased with this and was quick to comment that Xavi has never won a Ballon d’Or while he has won three.
“Everyone knows that anyone who wants to make the front pages has to talk about me,” Ronaldo told reporters. “Xavi has not won a single Ballon d’Or. I have won three.”
The Portuguese forward was on target in yesterday’s 5-2 drubbing of Osasuna and it was his first game this season after coming back from injury, he said he felt good.
“I am feeling well physically and could have played 90 minutes without problems,” he added. “But I was still feeling a bit of fear at certain moments. That’s only normal after a spell on the sidelines.
“I have gained rhythm, scored a goal and got a good feeling. Everything is great.”
