The Kano State Government spokesman, Baba Dantiye has said that the newly appointed Emir of Kano would soon relocate from his temporary base at Government House to the Emir’s palace in a few days.

Dantiye said the development followed the withdrawal of police and other security agencies from the Emir’s palace.

Police had been attached to the palace following protests over the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s appointment as Emir.

“I just got the information that the police have left the palace. Preparations will now start to ensure that the emir relocates to the palace,” he said.

Sanusi is scheduled to lead 7th day Fidau prayers for the late Emir of Kano today at noon today.

The Emir received Khalifa Sheikh Isiyaka Rabi’u, leader of Tijjaniyya sect in Africa on Thursday.

Rabiu prayed for Allah to grant the new Emir wisdom and protection as he ruled over his people.
