The Federal government has said that talks with the National assembly as to sketchy areas of the as of yet unsigned 2016 budget are still ongoing and that any hopes that the 2016 budget would be signed soon may have to be dashed.

This decision was taken at the Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting which held on Wednesday at the presidential villa, Abuja presided over by president Mohammadu Buhari.

Briefing State House Correspondents at the end of the meeting, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr. Udo Udoma stated that with the signing of the budget in mind, the federal government has set up Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism to ensure that the budget was duly implemented.
