Steve Harvey Announces Wrong Winner During Miss Universe Pageant

Steve Harvey who was the host of Miss Universe Peagent mistakingly announced the wrong winner, an error he later apologized for.

He crowned Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez-Arévalo, as the winner of the 2015 beauty pageant. After she was crowned and was performing the ritual wave to the audience inside the Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino, Harvey came back on stage to deliver the devastating news.

He said “The first runner-up is Colombia, Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines.

“Listen, folks. Let me just take control of this. “This is exactly what’s on the card. I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake.”

That was the moment when the real winner, Pia Alonzo Wurztbach of the Philippines, began to look around stunned and wondering what had just happened.

The internet went overboard to blast Steve Harvey, he had to issue another apology on Twitter, he wrote “I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible.”
