The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, was in a state of commotion, as plain clothes policeman attempted to shoot the Super Eagles players.

The players, who made the country proud with their 2-0 win against Zambia, had just entered into the country l and were still trying to get their belongings before the unfortunate incident  occurred.

The Eagles filled out of the arrival hall to the welcome songs and drums, in excitement to their victory before they were accosted  by the police officer.

According to reports, the police men didn’t have a search warrant with them but claimed they were sent by the Abuja Police Command to arrest the chairman of the LMC, Mr Shehu Dikko.

The chairman had been declared wanted by a Federal High Court sitting in Jos, who ordered the LMC to suspend the Nigerian League and reinstate Giwa FC which filed the suit before it.

While the airport was in a state of confusion, the Super Eagles players tried to find out the reason for the arrest, one of the policemen pulled out his guns and fired some shots. Everyone within the premises scampered for safety.

President Amaju Pinnacle, begged the policemen to calm down so as not to turn their victory to sadness, because they came back in jubilation over their 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Pressman who tried to take pictures and cover the happenings at that moment was threatened by the trigger happy policeman, as he said he cared less over the victory of the Super Eagles  and could shoot anyone who tried to stop the arrest.
