The House of Representatives Peoples Democratic Party Caucus recently met with President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House where they endorsed his leadership of the country and urged him to declare for a second term.

Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, House Leader, Mrs. Mulikat Adeola-Akande, said  “We are PDP caucus of the House of Representatives. A meeting like this is not strange because we met with the President who is our party leader. We deliberated on issues affecting our party.

“The House caucus on our own decided to pass a vote-of-confidence in Mr. President and also endorse him for second term.”

She added that other issues discussed at the meeting bordered on National Security and commendations for government’s efforts to restore peace to troubled parts of the country.

She failed to explain Speaker Tambuwal’s absence when asked and instead said, “I am sure when you see Mr. Speaker, you will ask him, this is a PDP meeting, obviously he will have his reasons why he was not at the meeting.”
