Salisu Yakubu, a 40-year-old security guard has been taken to court for allegedly raping a 16-year-old teenager in Lagos.
The incident happened on the 10th of December at the Mr. Yakubu’s residence at No 1, Chike street, Ipaja.
The case is being handled at the Ikeja Chief Magistrate Court.
According to the prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, the accused grabbed his victim while she was running errands for her mother, he said “I covered her mouth and carried her to his room where he raped her”,
However, the mother of the girl reported the incident to the police after the girl arrived at home in tears.
Although, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, The chief magistrate of the Ikeja High court, Mrs. Taiwo Akanni, granted the accused N200,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
The Prosecuting officer was left unimpressed and stated that this act was contrary to Section 259 of the criminal law of Lagos state, 2015 (revised)
