Thirteen Year Old Girls Kill 10 And Injure Others In Joint Suicide Attack

Ten have died and 52 people were injured in a twin suicide attack in Maiduguri the Borno State capital.

The attacks happened in a market in the Muna Garage area. Ibrahim Liman part of the Civilian Joint Taskforce, which assists the military with security against Boko Haram, described events. “Two under-aged girls, aged about 13, struck at the market at about 4:10pm – peak hour. The first bomber set off her explosives in a sparsely populated part of the market.

Moments later, the second bomber set off her explosives in the crowded part of the market. That was where most of the casualties were recorded.”

Local resident Dahiru Bulama an eyewitness stated:

“The attack was really bad. The casualty toll could be high. We were not allowed to go near.

“But I saw one car parked across the road that was splattered with blood and flesh.”

Although Boko Haram have not claimed the attack they have been known to use young girls and women as suicide bombers.

On November 15th four suicide bombers killed twelve people in Muna area of Maiduguri. Wednesday’s suicide attacks follow Monday’s 9 killed by Boko Haram jihadist’s in Ngala area of Borno and Adamawa state.
