Torres rejects Chelsea exit rumours

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has turned down the chance to join Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala, according to reports.

Torres looks to be heading for the Stamford Bridge exit door after struggling to live up to his £50million price tag following his arrival from Liverpool but he will wait unti the summer before deciding his future.

It is thought Anzhi made a move to sign Torres before the closure of the Russian transfer window last month in a deal that would have seen Chelsea recoup the money they paid Liverpool for the Spaniard.

However the striker did not fancy the idea of playing in Russia and would prefer to either return to La Liga or begin a fresh challenge in Serie A with one of the top Italian clubs.

There have also been suggestions that Liverpool could try and re-sign him, while Chelsea may try and use him as bait to sign Radamel Falcao from his former club Atletico Madrid.
