Passengers on Medview Airlines from Lagos to Abuja on Monday got the shock of their lives as the plane which was already making to descend into the Nnamdi Azikwe Airport suddenly throttled back up into the air with a jolt of force.

The pilot explained to the passengers that he executed the maneuver in order to avoid hitting a plane on the runway which he was to land on. 150 passengers were onboard the flight.

The pilot had been given permission to land by ground control; however another airplane of the runway was slow in leaving the tarmac, thus leading to the near tragedy.

Passengers onboard the plane went into panic, with some already saying what they thought could be their final prayers as the plane hit a rough patch of turbulence when the pilot performed the maneuver.

The plane reportedly landed safely 20 minutes after the incident and most passengers hurriedly disembarked, thanking their stars.
