Trial of Maryam Sanda Who Allegedly Killed Husband Begins

Maryam Sanda who allegedly stabbed her husband to death has been arraigned in court today Thursday, December 7.

She was arraigned on charges bordering on homicide at the High Court, Jabi in Abuja.

Sanda is believed to have killed her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, son of ex-PDP chairman Haliru Bello, by stabbing him.

According to reports, the charges against the suspect were amended at commencement of trial, while her mother Maimuna Sanda, her brother Aliyu Sanda and another co-defendant were charged for destruction of evidence.

Justice Yusuf Haliru who presided over the case denied the suspect’s bail application and ordered her to be remanded in Suleja Prison.

The case was adjourned until December 14, 2017.
