Two young girls have been tortured for two weeks after they were accused of being witches. Unfortunately, one of them died during the ordeal, media sources revealed.

The girls were aged 9 and 13. Abigail Lara, the 9-year-old, died during the ordeal and was buried in an unmarked grave. Police have now arrested three men; James Awak, Adamu Zakka and Hannatu Awak in connection with the act.

Media sources say they beat and whipped their victims, rubbed some liquid substances into their skin and used a screwdriver to inflict deep injuries.

The incident was made public in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer Ahmed Usman.

The suspects have already been taken to court where they would be prosecuted and punished under Nigerian laws.

Children and babies that have been branded as evil are being mistreated, abandoned, and murdered in societies that harbour beliefs about the existence of witches and black magic.
