United Kingdom security forces have foiled an attempt to assassinate the Prime Minister, Theresa May.

According to Bloomberg quoting Sky News, an attempt on the life of the PM last week by Islamist militants led to the arrest of two men, Naa’imur Zakariyah Rahman, 20, from North London and Mohammed Aqib Imran, 21, from Southeast Birmirgham.

The police believe the plotters planned to create confusion by detonating an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the Prime Minister’s Downing Street offices and kill Theresa May in the mayhem.

The duo will appear at Westminster Magistrate’s Court Wednesday morning over the matter.
