The Wizkid concert held last night was noteworthy for a lot of reasons. First it gave fans a chance to watch one of the biggest success stories in the Nigerian music industry strut his stuff.
Then there was the Davido reunion as the two performed FIA together signalling an end to their long-standing beef. And probably the most remarkable was when Wizkid signed a 12-year-old boy to his record label and awarding N10 million, changing the kid’s life overnight.
Simply known as Ahmed, Wizkid allowed the youngster freestyle on stage. Impressed by the boy’s vocal range and performance, he signed him to his Starboy record label, and also pledged N10 million to him to grow.
The crowd was understandably enthused by the development and many were left impressed by Wizkid’s largesse.
