It would have been a sad Good Friday holiday for the residents of Umulari Mulai, a community about six kilometers away from Maiduguri were it not for the timely intervention of vigilantes and soldiers.
The vigilantes known as the Civilian JTF spotted two female suicide bombers on the Maiduguri-Damboa Road at around 1:00am when one of them detonated her bomb.
Upon detonation, the Civilian JTF sprung into action and inquired into the situation. This made the second bomber scurry away for safety in a nearby bush.
Upon arrival of Soldiers in the area, the second bomber was discovered and shot. Her bomb was later detonated.
