Multi-platinum record selling artist, Lil Wayne has been in the news for being hospitalized over his addiction to Codeine and Promethazine, popularly called Syrup.

What most people don’t know is that the drug is a terrible and in fact deadly addiction to possess, even more so than other drug addictions. According to Wikipedia some of the withdrawal symptoms of the drugs include  drug cravings, runny nose, yawning, sweating, insomnia, weakness, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle spasms, chills, irritability, and pain.

In fact, accepted medical practice is for users trying to kick the habit is to  gradually reduce their codeine medication under the supervision of a healthcare professional so as to minimize withdrawal symptoms.
