Stolen items from a store house worth about N1 million belonging to a Businessman in Maiduguri have been returned by the Joint Task Force, Operation Restore Order (ORO) patrol team.

The JTF spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, handed over the items at a ceremony in Maiduguri, yesterday. He spoke on how the operation took place.

“A JTF patrol team on routine patrol on May 25, 2012 observed an unusual movement at Ruwan–Zafi in Maiduguri metropolis. Consequently, a snap cordon and search operation was conducted in the area which led to the recovery of 10 brand new motorcycles.”

In addition, four new motorcycle engines wrapped in cartons were also recovered, he added.

“Investigations revealed that the stolen items were hurriedly moved to a store on sighting JTF troops’ movement in the area,” said Musa.

After expert work, the JTF traced the owner of the items and handed over the properties all in one piece.
