A 29-year old man has been arrested by the Anambra police for allegedly defiling a three year old girl.
The man, who hails from Enugu State, is said to be sharing a three-bedroom flat in the area with the parents of the girl.
Reacting to the arrest at Onitsha Fegge Police station, the brother of the little girl hinted that she lost her mother just few months ago.
He revealed that the little girl had gone as usual to embrace the man when she came back from school, near their residence before the man lured her into her room and had canal knowledge of her.
It was the cry of the baby that attracted her father’s attention and when he carried her up, he noticed that she was itching her private part and on close look, he discovered injuries and blood gushing out.
On further inquiry, the girl pointed at the young man, who after several attempts to deny the allegation, confessed committing the crime before he was handed over to the police.
Confirming the incident, the Fegge Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Mr Rabiu Garba, said the suspect is now helping the police in their investigation, adding that the case has charge to court.
